Working from home in Czech Republic is not the same everywhere

Prague apartments built before 1990 typically have smaller rooms, lower ceilings, and fewer power outlets than newer builds. That changes what equipment actually fits and what setup makes sense.

We test everything in real Czech flats and cafés, not in photogenic studio setups. If a standing desk doesn’t clear a standard Czech window sill, we’ll say so.

  • Tested in actual Prague apartments, not studios
  • Czech prices and availability checked
  • Covers both home office and coworking scenarios
  • Updated when products or spaces change

Why WorkBench CZ exists

In 2020 a large number of Czech knowledge workers were suddenly working from the kitchen table. Four years later, many still are — and the advice available in Czech tends to stay either too generic or too commercial.

WorkBench CZ was started to fill that gap: detailed, honest comparisons of chairs, desks, headsets, and coworking options that are actually available and relevant in Czech Republic. No sponsored placements, no vague productivity platitudes.

Our information draws on hands-on testing, verified specs from manufacturers, and data from EU-OSHA ergonomics research and the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors.
