How We Evaluated

Headsets for remote work calls need to do two distinct things well: deliver clear audio to the person you’re speaking with (microphone quality and noise rejection) and allow you to hear them clearly without fatigue over long calls (speaker quality and passive isolation). These requirements are sometimes in tension — aggressive ANC that blocks ambient sound well can also introduce a slight hiss or pressure sensation over hours.

We evaluated each model on three call scenarios: a quiet home office, a moderately noisy coworking space (open floor plan with 15–20 people), and a busy café. Call quality was assessed by participants on the other end of the call, not just by us wearing the headset.

Jabra Evolve2 55

The Evolve2 55 sits at the entry point of Jabra’s professional line, positioned below the Evolve2 75 but above consumer wireless headsets. Its three-microphone system uses a dedicated boom arm with additional beam-forming microphones in the headset body.

In practical testing, call participants consistently rated the Evolve2 55 above the Poly Voyager Focus 2 for voice clarity in quiet-to-moderate environments. The busy light that activates automatically during calls is a small feature that significantly reduces household interruptions — undervalued by reviewers who do not live with other people.

ANC performance is described as “underwhelming” by some US reviewers. Our reading: the ANC reduces low-frequency ambient noise (traffic, HVAC) reasonably well but does not handle the high-frequency unpredictability of café conversations. For coworking focus work, it is adequate; for a busy café, expect some ambient noise to persist.

Available on Alza.cz for approximately 6,500–7,200 CZK. Compatible with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and similar platforms without configuration.

Poly Voyager Focus 2

Poly’s Voyager Focus 2 competes directly with the Jabra Evolve2 55. The hardware ANC button is a practical advantage — you can toggle noise cancellation without opening an app during a call. Battery life (up to 19 hours with ANC off) is the longest of the models we tested.

Microphone quality in the café scenario slightly lagged behind the Jabra. Call participants on the other end noted occasional background intrusion during high-noise moments. In the home office and quiet coworking scenarios, the Voyager Focus 2 performed comparably to the Evolve2 55.

Available in Czech Republic from approximately 6,800–7,500 CZK. Compatible with all major UC platforms.

Sennheiser ADAPT 560 II

The ADAPT 560 II is Sennheiser’s on-ear business headset — lighter than over-ear models, which matters for people who wear a headset for five or more hours a day. On-ear designs are less common in the professional space but suit people who find over-ear clamping pressure fatiguing.

Voice quality on calls was the strongest of the three models in our quiet and moderate-noise tests. The microphone on the ADAPT 560 II uses two discrete transducers that work together to separate speech from background — the result is noticeable when listening back to recorded calls. In the noisy café test, it performed similarly to the Voyager Focus 2.

Price in Czech Republic runs approximately 7,500–8,200 CZK. The higher price is justified for people who prioritise voice quality above ANC performance.

What About Bluetooth Headsets Under 3,000 CZK

Consumer Bluetooth headsets in this price range (Jabra Evolve2 30, Logitech Zone Wired) work acceptably for occasional calls. For remote workers whose job centres on voice communication — client calls, team meetings, customer support — the microphone quality gap between consumer and professional headsets is audible to the other participants, even if you cannot hear it yourself.

The consistent feedback from call participants in our testing: professional headsets at 6,000+ CZK make voices sound clearer and more present, which has a subtle but real effect on how you come across in meetings. It is worth factoring this into the cost-benefit calculation if your work involves significant verbal communication.
