Why Prague Coworking Has Improved Since 2022

Before the pandemic, most Prague coworking spaces catered primarily to startups and freelancers who needed an address for a registered office. Post-2020, the customer base shifted — employees at remote-friendly international companies now make up a significant portion of memberships, which has driven up quality requirements. Noise management, meeting room booking systems, and reliable gigabit internet have moved from “nice to have” to baseline expectations.

Prices have risen accordingly. A flexi desk membership that cost 2,500 CZK/month in 2021 now typically runs 4,000–6,500 CZK/month at comparable spaces. That is still considerably below equivalent spaces in Vienna or Berlin, which matters for freelancers invoicing in euros.

The Four Spaces

Zenwork — Vinohrady

The largest private coworking operation in Prague with 2,615 m² and over 330 seats across a single floor. Located a short walk from IP Pavlova metro. The scale is its main advantage — there is almost always a free desk on any day of the week, and the variety of zones (quiet focus, collaborative, phone booths) is genuine rather than marketed.

Internet: tested at 320 Mbps download / 180 Mbps upload on a weekday afternoon. Consistent. Membership from 5,000 CZK/month for individuals includes 24/7 access, lockers, showers, and coffee. Meeting rooms are bookable and well-soundproofed.

Impact Hub Prague — Andel, Smichov

Probably the best-known brand in Central European coworking. The Prague flagship is near Andel metro in Smichov — a neighbourhood that has improved significantly over the past decade. Impact Hub’s model is community-first: they run regular events, workshops, and have a genuine cluster of social-sector and tech-for-good organisations as members.

If you primarily need quiet focus time, Impact Hub can feel busy. If you want to actually meet other remote workers or build contacts in Prague, the community events are legitimately useful. Membership starts at 1,950 CZK/month for limited-hours access and reaches 5,400 CZK for unlimited. The 30% cross-access to Impact Hub Brno and Ostrava is a practical benefit for anyone travelling within CZ.

Locus Workspace — Vinohrady

Smaller than Zenwork and Impact Hub, Locus has positioned itself as the international-professional option. The membership base includes people from 20+ countries, and the official language of the space is English — relevant for expats and digital nomads who find most Prague coworking spaces primarily Czech-speaking. Located near Jiriho z Podebrad metro.

Noise level is the lowest of the four we tested. The space enforces quiet norms more strictly than competitors. Monthly discounts are available for nomads and travellers planning stays of two weeks or less.

WeWork Prague

WeWork operates in Prague with the same model as globally: premium design, strong brand, and pricing that reflects it. Best suited for teams and companies that need to present a professional address and meeting space to clients. Individual remote workers typically find better value elsewhere unless their employer is paying.

The meeting rooms are genuinely impressive — AV equipment, reliable video conferencing, and proper soundproofing. If you need to run a polished client call or team workshop in Prague, WeWork’s day-rate meeting room hire is competitive.

Practical Tips Before You Sign Anything

Always use the trial day or week before committing to a monthly membership. Noise levels vary significantly between morning and afternoon, and between Monday and Friday. A quiet Thursday morning tells you nothing about Tuesday at 2pm when six people are on calls nearby.

Ask specifically about the meeting room booking ratio — how many members per meeting room. Anything above 25:1 means you will regularly find all rooms booked when you need one.

Check whether the space offers a dedicated desk option. Flexi desks mean different seats each day; dedicated desks let you leave monitors, keyboards, and peripherals overnight. For anyone setting up a proper workstation, the price premium for a dedicated desk is often justified.
